LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—An asteroid is headed toward earth, but Bob Allen, UW-L Planetarium Director, said don’t worry we’re not in danger.
Asteroid 2012 DA 14 will be closest to the earth on February 15.
It’s not going to be visible to the eye, but it is coming with in ten percent of the moons distance.
“Armatures with telescopes, they really would need some software because its going to be so close and moving so quick compared to stars you would need something to tell the telescope to go and follow it,” Allen said.
